Membership Information

How to join, How much? etc.

Lyme Regis Sailing Club tries to cater for the needs of all, young or old, experienced or inexperienced. You don't have to own your own boat to belong. There is nearly always somebody looking for crew! There are various categories of membership which are shown in the chart below.

NOTE: There are currently NO dinghy spaces available for new members but if they join they can go onto the waiting list - places may become available later in the season.
There are NO full week car park spaces left. Limited mid-week parking tickets (i.e. Monday-Friday except Bank Holidays or after 18.00 on Wednesdays) can still be purchased by full members.

Membership Categories:

Full Member
Shall be over the age of 18 (on January 1st in membership year) and may have full use of the Club facilities including a Club key. A Full Member may vote at Club General Meetings, introduce new members and guests to the Club and is eligible to be an officer of the Club.

Family/Partnership
Shall include two adults (aged over 18 years) (partners) OR one or two parents (as may be) and all children under 10 years of age on January 1st of the membership year. Both parents/partners shall have the same rights and privileges as Full members.

Student Member
Being a person over 18 and under 25 years of age (on January 1st in membership year). Student members may use all facilities of the Club including a Club key, and a vote at Club General Meetings.

Youth Member
Boy or girl aged over 10 years and under 18 years have full use of the Club facilities under adult supervision. Youth members shall not be entitled to vote at Club General Meetings nor possess a Club key. The Club cannot accept responsibility for Youth Members; they remain the sole responsibility of their parents/guardians. No other club member can be expected supervise or control the Youth Member.

Social Member
A non-sailing member over 18 years of age, who may wish to use the facilities available at the Clubhouse. A social member shall have limited access to the Car Park facilities and shall not be entitled to sailing facilities nor a vote at Club General Meetings.

Out of Port Member
Only available to ex Full or ex Family members; see Club Rule 10.1.J.

Temporary Member
Any of the above categories. A temporary member is entitled to use of the Club facilities for a period not exceeding 28 days. Temporary members have no right to introduce guests or visitors to the Club, nor enter Club races, and have no entitlement to vote at Club General Meetings.

Note: Members in receipt of a state pension or students in full time education are eligible for a reduction in their Annual Subscription (Full and Family categories only).
