Lesley will be retiring as Treasurer of the Club at this year’s AGM in October, and we are looking for somebody to replace her.  Although the accounts are generated using Quick Books, a simple to use accounts programme, a basic knowledge of book keeping would be useful although not essential as Lesley will be available to help out if needed.

If you would be interested in knowing more about the position please give Lesley a ring on 01297 445263 or email her at lesley@broom123.myzen.co.uk.

Sailing

Lyme Regis Sailing Club is well known for its dinghy racing with occasional races organised for the cruisers e.g. the wine Run.

Dinghy racing starts in mid March and runs throughout the year. Generally, there are 3 races on Sundays (2 morning and 1 afternoon) and racing on Wednesday evenings from May through to August; full details are in the club Programme.

The Club has a mixed fleet of dinghies which race on a handicap basis. Popular classes in the Club are Albacore, Phantom, and Laser.

Safety

The club takes its responsibility for safety very seriously and there is always at least one rescue boat with the racing fleet. This a fast RIB used solely for this purpose that is driven by trained safety boat crews.

Helms and crews taking part in organised races are advised to wear a suitable buoyancy aid. For general sailing we advise you to check the weather forecast before sailing. During the summer months this is displayed daily outside the harbour masters office near the LRSC car park. You can also access various weather sites from here.

Race Courses

Before each race there is a briefing at the club house. There are deployable racing marks laid to suit the wind on the day
