New Guidance for Racing

I know you are eagerly awaiting the restart of club organised racing.

Your committee has accepted the proposal from the Covid-19
sub-committee that we go racing. This is given provided the Government
and RYA guidelines are strictly adhered to by all individuals taking
part, both running and competing each race day. Failure to do this
will invalidate the Club insurance and leave the LRSC Ltd. directors &
officers and committee plus those carrying out duties (in particular
the Race Officer) very vulnerable.

Attached are the documents that must be read and understood by all who
run or go racing and when signing on you will be confirming that you
have done so. These documents will be posted on the Club website but
we felt it necessary to email each individual likely to be involved in
racing.

Please read documents attached in this order:
1.  LRSC COVID 19 NOTICE TO MEMBERS 8.7.20
2.  LRSC – NOR  SIs for COVID CLUB RACING 8.7.20
3.  LRSC Club Racing Coronavirus Risk Assessment 9_7_20

The racing will be tide dependent as both PJ and Humber RIB will be
moored in the harbour and this link will take you to a calendar that
will be maintained by the Sailing Secretary. It is best viewed in
timeline mode at the top right of the screen. It shows the start time,
race name, high tide time/height and time range that the moored boats
should float/start drying.

We will be using fixed marks + start mark (as described in the
combined NOR/SIs attached) to simplify course setting and reduce the
risk of cross contamination. We hope to have these fixed marks in
place on Friday 10th July ready for racing on Sunday 12th July.

A duty rosta will be advised in due course but will only consist of
those that are taking part in racing. In the first instance members of
the covid sub-committee will be running the races to observe how
things go.

It is vitally important that we maintain groups of no more than 6
people whilst on shore but out on the water the “Gatherings Rule” does
not apply.

Beachmaster safe working area with tape. Need to sanitise table/chairs and set up before duty starts as deck now in use by members. Tape in Beach box on garage Signing On table, pack of wipes beside box.
